Port Vue

The Borough of Port Vue

Port Vue
Historical Background

The borough did not begin until it broke away from Lincoln Township in 1893. The 500 residents that comprised the new area known as Port Vue convened in an old schoolhouse on the Edmundson farm and considered naming the new town Grandview. However, they settled on the name Port Vue due to the beautiful view of the Youghiogheny River.

Port Vue Today

The borough has two recreational facilities which include tennis courts, dek hockey courts, horseshoe pits, and picnic pavilions.

Port Vue has a Citizens Committe which gathers for special events such as neighborhood cookouts and nature hikes.
