ALIGN
The Alliance for Local Investment Growth Network (ALIGN) is a regional coalition that coordinates partners and resources to strengthen communities and support sustainable economic growth.
ALIGN brings together regional leaders in the Mon Valley and Pittsburgh’s Eastern Suburbs to identify opportunities, share intelligence, and act jointly to improve conditions for residents and local businesses.
Why was ALIGN formed?
The Mon Valley and the Eastern Suburban Region can attract new jobs and investment once we meet key challenges to improve housing, transportation, workforce development, and childcare. The data shows that these regions are well-positioned to become a competitive hub for clean tech investment in three categories:
- Battery manufacturing
- Solar component manufacturing
- Green buildings
Allegheny County has the strongest potential in Southwestern PA to attract and grow a cleantech economy, due to the key industries currently operating here.
ALIGN partners believe that regions do not transform by accident. They do so when leaders unite around a shared vision to reshape the region’s economic trajectory and coordinate resources and initiatives to prepare for next-generation industries to thrive in the region. To do so, the Coalition will coordinate between and across local governments and economic developers, workforce developers, business associations, and community groups to staff the effort.
What is ALIGN's goal?
ALIGN was formed in December 2025 to create a unified, investment-ready region where existing residents benefit from renewed growth.
What are ALIGN's values?
Members of ALIGN commit to working as one region — aligning strategy, supporting each other, building on what already exists, and pursuing growth that benefits the people who live here now.
