BACKYARD HABITATS NEIGHBORHOOD SERIES

Promoting Natural Habitats with Home Gardens

In 2023, the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania (ASWP) is offering FREE Certified Backyard Habitats with pollinator gardens for residents of Dravosburg, McKeesport, South Versailles, Versailles, and White Oak.

Participating households will receive pollinator bundles of native plants (over $175 value), become enrolled in ASWP’s Certified Backyard Habitat (CBH) program, and receive a one-year ASWP membership. The CBH program helps people to transform their yards and patios into an oasis for pollinators and birds.

By creating Backyard Habitats, residents not only get to enjoy more natural beauty, but also support local birds, pollinators, and wildlife. An ASWP staff member will visit each participating household 1-2 times to identify habitat gardening opportunities, deliver plants, and provide custom resources to help along the way.

The Summer-Fall 2023 Program is limited to 90 participants from the Mon Valley. Enroll soon to secure your spot!

To enroll, visit www.aswp.org or call (412) 963-6100.

This program is funded by the Richard King Mellon Foundation and under an Assistance Agreement by the Environmental Protection Agency.
